The right vehicle for the piece
Both vehicles are driven on a standard Ontario G licence and priced live by distance.
16 ft box truck
Sofas and sectionals, bed sets, dining sets, wardrobes and appliances. Up to about 3,000 kg per load.
Cargo van
Boxed and flat-pack furniture, chairs, mattresses in a box and small appliances. Up to about 900 kg per load.
Multi-box items arrive complete
A bed frame in three cartons or a sectional in four is still one delivery.

Book the item as one stop and list each box (for example: bed frame, 3 boxes), so the driver knows the full count before pickup.

All cartons for an item travel on the same vehicle — no split shipments and no second trip for the last box.

Scheduling that fits your sales floor
Same day
Order by 11 AM for delivery 2–9 PM the same day, Monday to Saturday. Later orders go out the next operating day.
Book ahead
Schedule a later date when your customer wants it, and the quote shows the delivery window before you book.

A live tracking link with the driver's progress, then photo proof of delivery when it lands.

- Threshold delivery: the driver brings each piece to the front door, lobby, garage or loading dock you name at booking.
- One driver per vehicle, who lifts single pieces up to 50 lb (23 kg) on their own.
- Pieces over 50 lb (23 kg) need a helper from your team at pickup and from the receiver at drop-off.
- Live tracking for your customer and photo proof of delivery on every order.
Not included
- Liftgate — our vans and box trucks are hand-unloaded from the back.
- Assembly, installation or unpacking.
- Room-of-choice placement or carrying beyond the threshold.
- Removal of old furniture, appliances or packaging.

Do you offer same-day furniture delivery in the GTA?
Yes. Order by 11 AM for delivery 2–9 PM the same day, Monday to Saturday, across our GTA coverage. Later orders go out the next operating day, and every quote shows the exact window.
What does threshold delivery mean?
The driver brings each piece to the first entrance you name at booking — a front door, building lobby, garage or loading dock. Carrying it further inside, up stairs to a room, or placing it is not part of the service.
How heavy can a single piece be?
Each vehicle has one driver, who lifts single pieces up to 50 lb (23 kg) on their own. For anything heavier, have someone from your team help load at pickup and make sure the receiver can help unload at drop-off. The box truck carries up to about 3,000 kg in total.
Do your trucks have a liftgate?
No. Our cargo vans and 16 ft box trucks have no liftgate, so pieces are hand-unloaded from the back of the vehicle. Plan heavier items with a helper at each end.
Do you assemble furniture or take away the old piece?
No. Drivers do not assemble, install or unpack items, and they do not remove old furniture, appliances or packaging.
Can I book an item that comes in several boxes?
Yes. Book it as one stop and list every carton. The cartons travel together on one vehicle and the proof-of-delivery photo shows them at the door.
How much does furniture delivery cost?
The price depends on the driving distance and the vehicle — a cargo van or a 16 ft box truck. The calculator uses the same pricing engine as checkout and shows the total including HST, with no sign-up.
Can my Shopify store offer this at checkout?
Yes. The PorterChain Shopify app adds a same-day rate at checkout using the same pricing engine as the calculator, then books the delivery when the order is paid.
