How to create a delivery SOP

A short SOP keeps inside sales, warehouse, and dispatch aligned when you use overflow or recurring capacity. Document intake, cut-offs, escalation, and proof standards so every run follows the same path.

Define intake and cut-offs

Who submits orders, by what time, and in what format (CSV, portal, or API). Publish same-day cut-offs by zone so sales does not promise windows operations cannot hit.

Document exceptions

List who to call for failed access, damaged freight, or customer not available. Include Porterchain ops contact and your internal escalation owner.

Close the loop with proof and invoice

Require POD review before billing disputes. Keep tracking links with the order record so finance and customers share one source of truth.
